Apple TV 2 Not working after most recent OS X update

So I was watching movies on my apple TV 2 today... I received a software update notification on my comp for OS X. I updated - restarted my comp and now the apple TV is MEGA slow. It takes forever to "load my library" - the artwork is not showing alot of the time and when I play a movie it takes up to 5 minutes to start if at all. Sometimes I get an error message saying that the content could not be loaded. I tried resetting both my comp and the ATV2 as well as unplugging the apple tv and turning off home sharing. Anyone else have this issue?
 
After about a day things have slowly seemed to work themselves out - does the Apple TV preload/sync media so it can start faster when you want to watch a movie. Before the update everything started seamlessly with virtually no load time. For the past day the more I used it the better the performance. No idea why but its working again. :)
