I‘ve been in a world of hurt since getting my 2021 Apple TV 4K — it is just so much lower volume than Its predecessor. Maybe I got a bum unit? Anyway I just ordered the 2022 version in the hope that volume improves. Can anyone tell me if the audio is better?
Im running a high end stereo system on Apple TV 2021 4K and I need to run my fancy amp at the absolute max just so I can hear the dialog!

I've had all versions of the Apple TV connecting to a receiver and haven't seen any volume differences. How have you configured the volume control on your remote?

Thank you for your reply! I too have had all versions of Apple TV but volume problem is only with this 2021 version. Same hookup. Never had volume connected to the remote — I adjust it manually on the receiver. Maybe I really did just get a defective unit!

Use my Apple TV 4K 3rd generation remote volume buttons to control my Marantz receivers' volume control via the ATV remote IR port so has to be directly pointed at the receiver.

Not sure how that happens to work as I had to turn off CEC due to the chaos it caused.

Just installed the 2022 4K Apple TV and is is definitely louder — not massively so, but making the setup possible to run at somewhat less than max volume. Still not where it should be, but better! I either had a bum unit or the 2022 model is bettter overall.
