Apple TV 3 and rentals

I have a problem only with rentals and not purchased films. If I play a rental on my Mac or iPad and then try and resume on the ATV the ATV forgets where the movie was last left off at and starts from the beginning. Anyone else having this issue and is there a fix? Like I said it’s only with rentals.
