Hi,

I am in the Uk and looking on eBay the Apple TV 4 is going up in price, 6-9 months ago you could get one for £65-85 and now they are going over the £100+ mark! Why?

Cheers
Jonny

Simple. The Apple TV really holds its value. I guess that's top quality components. Even the really old ATV3 is holding up well on Ebay.
My advice is to save save save and go for a brand new ATV 4K or if you are with EE in the UK, you can get the new ATV 4K added to your contract for an extra £15 a month for 12 months :) along with Apple Music free for 6 months :)

my guess is its easier to jailbreak a appletv 4 compared to the 4k, there are more firmwares capable of it now vs then and people like kodi with less than legal addons.

i know a few people here in canada that did this for that reason and the main reason they went with AppleTV vs a fireTV, Mibox or some random chinese box was because Airplay, less ads and UI jank stuff like that.
