I've been putting my Apple TV to sleep at night for fear of using up bandwidth when I'm not watching the TV.

However, there have been a few times, I can't get the Apple TV to wake from sleep. I have to unplug it and plug it back in.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to convince my wife to stick with cordcutting but she has no patience for tech issues when she just wants to relax and wind down with some TV.

Help!

Update. The issue was my HDMI cable. I swapped cables and now HDMI-CEC works as expected. I can now see my Apple TV show up under "Available Devices" on my TV's HDMI-CEC setup panel.

THe HDMI cable I had previously had no apparent issues until I tried using it for HDMI-CEC. Apparently it wasn't up to the spec.
