Hi,

I know that:

- with tvOS 14.7, Apple TV 4K 2 gen can use HomePod as speaker through earc hdmi connection, also with Dolby atmos

- with tvOS 15, it’s possible to use AirPods (Max) to play Dolby atmos

So, do you think will be possible to use AirPods (Max) with Apple TV/tvOS 15 to play audio though earc connection ?

Thanks

I'm not sure about AirPods Max and eARC. You can already connect most any headphones up to the ATV 4K (either gen) via BT and listen to Dolby Atmos. Why not leave the eARC for the device that will be the default for the audio when you turn the ATV 4K on. Surely you would want the default audio device to be a soundbar or speaker system of some kind and not a battery operated headset that you have to insert into your ears each time you turn on the ATV 4K.

You are right but for various reasons I can’t use speakers (or even a soundbar) and I would like to play Dolby Atmos movies audio track: so I think (hope) if with tvOS 15 is possible to play Atmos audio for music via BT, It could be possible also via Earc (at least in theory)
