I have older Samsung 4KTV (2019) with ARC (no eARC), and it's hooked up to a Bose 900 soundbar. I'm kinda new to all these, so from what I've read so far, I'm not going to be able to get Dolby Atmos from the ATV 4K (2022). And from what the info is showing on my Bose app, the best I can get is Dolby 5.1. The alternative would be getting the HD Fury Arcana (waiting for it to arrive) to be able to get the best audio (Atmos) from ATV (short of getting a new TV with eARC).
Anyway, my question (confusion) is:
When I play a movie directly from the Samsung TV app (Vudu), the Bose app is actually showing that the audio is Dolby Atmos on the info. And maybe because of that, my ears are telling me it sounds way better than playing Vudu on the ATV. When I play the Vudu app on the ATV, all I get is Dolby 5.1, doesn't even shows Dolby 5.1+
Would if be possible that I'm actually getting Dolby Atmos on my soundbar, just by running the TV app, instead of the ATV app? I'm not sure if that's possible since my TV only has a ARC and not the eARC.
Maybe I'm just missing something here. Hope I'm clear enough, that I could get some answers to this. I'm also want to hear if getting the HDFury Arcana is worth it.
Thanks.
