Does the ATV 4K Gen 3 remote have NFC for FindMy built in to it?

If not, why not?!!

I am awaiting John Lewis to hold stock of the new model and in the mean time have been looking at case option for the remote and stumbled upon a Spigen case that can also hold an AirTag to help locate a lost remote.

I can’t help but think though, that Apple have overlooked the remote and tying it in to ‘FindMy’.

Seemingly all new releases from Apple are identifiable in FindMy, even a MagSafe wallet for iPhone has this capability built in to it.. so why not a remote?

Does anyone else think this should be built into the remote? (if it isn’t already)

No, there’s no way to do that natively. In my opinion, they’ve had plenty of opportunity to do this since ATV3 but haven’t done so. There’s probably more profit for them if we have to buy two items of hardware instead of one.

There is very little thought involved in the Apple TV hardware, no innovations for years, just software updates and faster processors.
