Can someone do me a big favor?

I need to know if the Apple TV 4 and Apple TV 4K have the same exact power plug.

Basically I have the Apple TV 4 set up perfectly and the way I wired everything behind my entertainment console it’s a nightmare to go back there and mess with everything haha.

I want to make sure it’s the same exact cord (power draw) as the 4 so I can literally buy the 4K and just unplug the back of my 4 and put the 4K in its place (with the same cords).

Thanks in advance!

same power cord, i did the same thing.

the only thing is you may need to update your HDMI cable to take advantage of HDR

Awesome!

Already got that in place, bought it with the ATV last year in hopes 4K was coming ;)

Thanks again

Same cord as the ATV3 as well if anyone is curious.

Since this is just a cord delivering mains voltages there is no special requirements, just as long as it fits the sockets.

I found some cords that I had saved from various other devices which fit the Apple TV, no problems with any of them powering it.

Maybe. If your old HDMI cable is good quality, it may be fine for HDR. I bought new cables, but never plugged them in because my original one worked fine. YMMV

that's why i said "may need to update" :p

I did just that yesterday, old slim Apple TV out, plugged in same power cord and hdmi cable (amazon basics) and voila 4K at the highest possible settings through my denon amp and oled tv.
