I’ve been curious about the unusual release timing of the new Apple TV, in particular the 3-week wait between pre-orders and release; 31 days between the Spring Loaded event and getting the TV in my hands.
We know that AirTags were ready and waiting, for whatever reason, as evidenced by stickers on the packaging from 2019. I didn’t find anything like that in the TV packaging, but does this HomePod artwork suggest that the TV packaging was designed before the decision to discontinue the full size HomePods?
Of all the products released on the same schedule as the Apple TV, the iPad Pro 12.9 seems the most constrained, so maybe the plan to release them all in sync (TV, M1 iMac, iPad Pro) just delays everything else?
