My Apple TV remote previously used to be able to turn my TV on and off, and control the volume of my separate speakers. It can now do neither despite me turning the setting on in settings, and making the Apple TV relearn the speaker volume up, down and mute controls from the speaker remote.

I have tried restarting the Apple TV but this has not fixed it.

Running the latest version of TVOS. Anyone got idea how to make it work?

Many thanks.

M.

I keep having to restart my remote (2021 Siri Remote, running tvOS 16.2) in order to adjust the volume of my receiver. It's really annoying. It has not been necessary to restart the Apple TV itself.

Thanks, restarting the remote and relearning seems to have done the trick (who would have thought a remote would need restarting!).
