Apple and Major League Baseball today announced that the "Friday Night Baseball" weekly doubleheader is set to return to Apple TV+ on March 28.

A schedule of games for the first half of the season is available in Apple's press release.

"Friday Night Baseball" is included with an Apple TV+ subscription, at no additional cost. In the U.S., Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year, and it is also included in all Apple One subscription bundles with other Apple services.

Apple also announced a new immersive video called "VIP: Yankee Stadium" that will provide Apple Vision Pro users with "an all-access pass to one of the world's most iconic sports venues." The film will be released next month, for free, and it features broadcasting legend Joe Buck welcoming viewers to a June 2024 match between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. No Apple TV+ subscription is required for this.

Last, Apple said a new "Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series" docuseries is set to premiere on Apple TV+ later this month.

I'm a baseball fan, but just of my local team. I don't watch other games other than the playoffs. I'm paying $10 to watch all the game from my home team, why would I pay $12.99 for 6-8 games from Apple?

I wasn't impressed with the presentation when they had the free preview of it a couple years ago.

Is that on MLB.TV you pay $10?
Or is it some tv subscription

Damn shame. Big apple fan, big MLB fan - can't stand the two together.

The on-air talent doesn't even pretend to like the game. Apple, if you want to shake things up - build a broadcasting booth that matters for each individual game like (good) playoff coverage by cable networks.

Pull old players, "legendary" broadcasters from the relevant cities. You know the schedule, a year in advance!

Even retired voices, what a great gig for a guy like John Sterling who called Yankee games on the radio for decades, but found himself ready to retire from everyday work.

Great to see this coming back. But if Apple TV+ is trying to be its own “network” it really needs to start adding another sport or two. NHL?? NBA?? Some more variety would be welcome especially with more Sports App integration with the TV App.

That would be a great idea I think the nhl would be more affordable to get because I think the NBA have just signed a massive contract for about 10 years

They can add all the sports they want but, please Apple, give me an option to hide it all, specially in the left menu in the Apple TV App.

No, it's an addon to a free basic IPTV that's provided by my internet provider. Here in Canada the Blue Jays are owned by the same company that holds the media rights, and everything is one channel, Sportsnet. It's $10/month addon for Sportsnet, and until Apple somehow wrestled those exclusive games from MLB, I was able to get all the games on one channel.

Love it, i use the MLB app to watch all the Angels games, but i do hope they put more then just few teams on maybe each team should get a game on Apple Tv

The *video* production of games on Apple TV is second to none. The times I've watched the games, I didn't care for the announcers, who seemed to lack baseball knowledge.

MLB is at a fork in the road with baseball TV rights. ESPN just opted out of their deal after this season and MLB is supposedly negotiating with Amazon and Netflix for future rights. Historically, baseball is a very casual sport to watch on TV. are people going to be willing to pay for all these streaming services to watch the games?
