I'm having a lot of trouble the past week or so with Apple TV+ streaming in low SD quality and also pausing to buffer. I'm having zero problems with any other streaming app. Hulu, Netflix, Disney, HBO Max -- all working perfectly in 4K and with no delays or buffering. Apple TV+ is uniquely failing to work right. I can only conclude it has something to do with the service itself. Anyone else?

Holy crap! I thought it was a me problem and something with my internet. Glad I’m not the only one. I’m on the beta of tvOS 26 and wasn’t sure if that was the issue. But I have the same problems !

The tip off for me is the fact that ALL my other streaming services are working perfectly. That pretty much rules out any local issues besides something on their end.

tvOS Playback HUD will reveal the bitrate you are getting and the network bandwidth the device sees.

Also, looking at the bitrate data, it can be noted, that aTV+ streams at highest bitrate, close to 30Mbps.

That’s a cool readout. Unfortunately it’s quite visible to the naked eye that the streaming quality is way off. Interesting to be able to put numbers to it though.

I also have the same issue. The problem only exists in Apple TV app. Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and my other streaming apps are working perfectly fine.

Same here. Having sipped at MacRumors content for decades, this was the issue that got me to register for an account. Sigh.
