Just received an email stating the Apple Care for my Apple TV 4K I bought refurb back in the fall has been extended to 3 years - a free year.

Anyone else get this notice?

Still on the fence if I want to get the newest version for my other TV - the fact the remote doesn’t even work with games is a bummer as my daughter likes to use it for a few games instead of a controller which is too big and cumbersome for her hands.

Personally, I have never damaged my Apple TV in the past and they have always lasted until end of support. My last one was a gen 3 so I never had the glass remote. I am not sure it’s worth it.

My third generation Apple TV died and I had AppleCare got it replaced no questions asked.

At close to $300 Canadian it’s worth the investment - I had two kids who run around and could knock stuff over. Why risk it!
