Hi folks,

Long time Mac, iPod and iPad user here, but I've never owned an Apple TV.

My young children are at an age where they are getting into games more so I've been looking at Apple Arcade. There is definitely a lot of game content included that they would enjoy, and I love the fact that they would be ad and in-app purchase free (both of these things are the bane of iPad games imo). I'd then like the children's iPad to become game free so that it is solely used for drawing and educational use.

However, are there any parental controls with the Apple TV 4k? I would want to set a time limit for its use everyday. If there are parental controls, are they granular so that a time limit can be set for Apple Arcade use separate to a time limit for using the device to watch TV?

In essence the Apple TV would pretty much only be used for gaming. We have a smart TV that has Netflix, Amazon, iPlayer etc on it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, be aware that not all Apple Arcade games can be played on the Apple TV. It might be good to check if the games you want to play support the Apple TV first before buying one. It may be tough to have the iPad be game-free.

See if this helps you.
Amazing, and thank you for your patience with me. I should have done a search before asking because I could have found that myself, that feels obvious now. It was late, I was tired, but the question came into my head and I typed before I thought...

Ah, this is interesting news. I hadn't even thought that would be a consideration. I'll look into this further. Thank you.

I forgot about that page, but that isn't the full list. Those are just games that are only available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

For instance, My Bowling 3D+ and Return to Monkey Island+ aren't in that list because they can be played on the Mac (but not the Apple TV).

I'm even seeing some games that are only available on the iPad and iPhone (excluding Apple Vision), but still aren't in that list (Arkanoid vs Space Invaders+ and Summer Pop!+ are a couple examples).

The easiest way to check is to look at the game listing in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. It'll show in the Compatibility section.
