When I use Aplle tv's interface via Siri to locate a movie to rent, purchase or list the streaming options, it now AUTOMATICALLY plays a trailer in the title's main page if one's available (they often are).
This is VERY annoying. I can bypass it by quickly swiping down with remote. Apple shouldn't be rushing me to do this though. Sometimes the volume is on too high on my Tv or I don't want to be spoiled. This is problematic for me . I want the ability for it to remain a still photo for the title - not for it to start playing a preview! Netflix was/is notorious for this which is why I always mute when Im in their app. Do I have to do this with Aplle now?? This is now causing friction with my partner as she often gets annoyed at me when I "cancel" a preview after it starts playing (i.e I'm slow on the swipe down) . I DONT NEED TO SEE A PREVIEW OF EVERY TITLE THAT I BROWSE/PEEK INTO. Let us decide if we want to see it.
And yes, under settings, motion - I *do* have video previews turned off. It doesn't matter, Applle's Movies/TV shows main pages still starts playing a preview if it has it for that title.
I added a few titles to my up next screen for potential rental/purchase. Now everytime I peak into any of these titles, even if it's just to check on the cast list , short synopsis or other data, the preview ALWATS starts after a few seconds.. At this rate , I will be swiping down in my sleep.
This started happening out of the blue. Made no changes to my settings . .A Still photo from the movie was all it previewed before. A Trailer only played if I chose to see/select it from the title's menu. I have a first Gen Apple tv 4k.
How's anyone else noticed this,? Can anyone advise me on how to stop it from automatically playing trailers ftom the title's main page screen?
