I've always wondered if the third party developers themselves make these channels or is it done by Apple themselves natively?

Like YouTube for example. I know during the early iOS days YouTube was made (licensed) natively by Apple themselves. But eventually they didn't renew the licensing and ended up letting Google develop a YouTube app of their own.

Is Apple doing the same with the Apple TV channels? Licensing to create the native channels themselves or is the creators of the channels the originators i.e. Google with YouTube, Hulu with Hulu Plus, Vimeo with the Vimeo app, etc.?

Thanks in advance! :)

They are provide by those individual entities. You Tube provides the channel but configures it for ATV. Same with NBCSN, HBO, Showtime, MLB..ect.
