Apple TV control remote affecting imac

So i have my apple tv on the same room as my iMac, and when i press button on the remote controller of the apple tv it raises or decreases the volume of my iMac if i press up or down on it... any fix???

System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Disable remote control

Had that same problem, was funny for a minute - then very annoying. Do what the guy above said
