I have a 4K Samsung TV that has something called HDR Pro, but I don't think it's the same thing as HDR10. When I set up my Apple TV, it auto-detected HDR and set itself to 4K HDR. Any reason why I shouldn't keep Apple TV set to HDR even if the TV doesn't truly support HDR10?

If you look at it with it set and think it looks worse than with HDR turned off.

If this is some kind of "will it damage my set if I leave it on?" question, probably-to-highly-likely it won't.

Otherwise, it's really a matter of a (your) eyeballs test: head-to-head with HDR turned on and off on that set. Which setting looks best? That's the winner for your setup.
