Hey all,

Apple TV second generation doesn't see new movies added to my iTunes library on my iMac - it seems like it is reading an older cache of the library - anyone know a way to clear it or have it rescan my movie library?

Thanks in advance!

Yes - movies I added to iTunes that we're not purchased on the iTunes Store.

If they are not itunes movies then they are probably added as "home movies" category. On the apple tv do you see "home movies" click on it and chances are that is where they have been put. By default movies added that are not itunes purchases default to the home movies group. You can go and change the sorting type to movies.

No home movies on Apple TV

That makes a lot of sense - just changed all of my "home movies" to "movies" in iTunes. i'll report back later if this was the fix or not.

Changing the sorting type to movies fixed it!

Everyone on this forum rocks.

Has anyone noticed that since the last update. Content from iTunes doesn't play well on apple tv.

All other apps on ATV work well but anything streamed from iTunes doesn't.

mine all show on the apple tv itself but if I use the Apple Remote app on my iPhone or iPad to start movies only about 1/3rd of the movies actually appear...
