I have new Google Chromecast with Google TV. I use it for YouTube, YouTube TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Plex. However there is no app for Apple TV+. Does anybody know when and if Apple TV app will be released for Android/Google TV. It is available in Google Play store for certain TVs with Android TV (I think its for Sony TVs). I bought Roku just to watch Apple TV+, but it would be nice if I could just use one streaming device and remote.

I have more or less the same question. I currently use a good old Apple TV box to access the Apple TV+ service (as well as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video), and as an Airplay receiver.
I am going to replace the TV and have narrowed down my selection to Sony and Philips OLED TVs. They all run Android TV 9 but only the Sonys seem to have Airplay out of the box. The Philips manual says that Airplay compatibility can be added by the right app on the Google Play store but I have had less than stellar experiences with such apps in the past.
The official AppleTV+ app is available on the Google Play store so hopefully that will run better, but does it offer Airplay as well?

It's not gonna happen. And that's just one nail in the coffin for my Android TV experience. And forget smart TV UIs and their version of the ATV+ app. It's garbage. It doesn't show any of your purchased content, and lacks stuff such as the ability to change aspect ratio and is unstable/slow. This was my experience with the app on Roku as well as Samsung smart TVs.

Well I am happy to disagree ;)
I eventually got a Sony OLED TV running Android 9 TV and, after an update to the latest version, it offered Airplay and a perfectly functional Apple TV app. The latter does show my purchased content.
I have not used my Apple TV box once in the last three weeks.
The only thing I miss is something akin to the slideshow feature of the Apple TV. I have not found anything close to it on the Google Play Store. The closest to the experience is using Photos on an iPad and streaming with Airplay.

Fortunately you are wrong at least on the count of it not coming to new Google Chromecast, just recently it was announced that it is coming to it. So I guess my own question was answered :)
And that makes sense for Apple, since that adds another stream of revenue for them.
