Apple TV from states

Okay this has probably been asked before, I had a quick search but couldn't find a definative answer.

My friend is off to the states and I was thinking of getting him to pick up an TV.

Now I know they will work with UK voltage and over HDMI etc, but have the followign questions.

1) Will a US TV work with a UK PAL TV over Component?
2) Is a US TV locked down to US iTunes accounts or can I simply enter my UK account details and get it to behave exactly like a UK box?

Any help would be great.

Yes.

They are not US-centric. You can use your UK account, like you would from your iTunes account.

Excellent news!!!

Looks as though a 160GB for £168 is going to be in my lounge very soon

Luckily my mate is going over just after WWDC, but doubt anything will be announced for TV then.
