This may be too soon given that the new Apple TV is not shipping for a few days, however I thought I might table this now just in case someone knows.
I currently have an Apple TV (3rd Generation) and it is integrated into my home AV system control system, which is Crestron. And by connecting the Apple TV via HDMI into the Crestron 8x8 DigitalMedia Switcher (model DM-MD8X8) I am able to watch the Apple TV on any of my televisions throughout the house, even though all the hardware is installed in a rack, in the basement.
All controls of the Apple TV is done using the Crestron remote handset and in addition, I can also use the Apple Remote App on my iPhone/iPad to control Apple TV too… but now that Apple has updated their Apple TV remote I cannot see how Crestron will handle the swiping functions and the Siri functions, etc.
Perhaps Apple will update the Apple Remote App to allow the swiping and Siri features to be done on an iOS device?
Any thoughts? Comments?
Thanks in advance for reading
