Hi there, I have apple TV running on my home theatre and use unblock-us to gain access to American Netflix.
I used to be able to use my IPhone as a remote but now no matter what I try, I can't. Both my apple TV and my Mac/Itunes have home sharing turned on and are using the same apple ID but the apple TV just doesn't seem to want to recognise that I have remote app. This also means I can't airplay anything through to my apple TV from my phone or Mac either. Could there be a problem with the DNS being different on different devices? It seems to be the same for all but the apple TV is one number out in all circumstances? Has anyone else had this problem or know what I can do to fix it?

Are the devices on the same subnet?

example everything starts with 192.168.1.XXX? Not a case where the TV is on 192.168.2.XXX?

I'm not sure if Apple services require same subnets though, some protocols don't mind.
