I have an oled tv with a very good internal speaker, but in the future i want to add 2 homepods, when apple enables stereo playback for the homepod.

The problem with that is that i could use the homepods (with apple tv), but the internal speaker of the tv can not be used at the same time and won’ t be able to output sound at the same time as the homepods.

But i read that with airplay 2 and multiroom audio, there is a possibilty to add another apple tv to output audio at the same time.

The way airplay works now, it is not possible for 1 apple tv connected to the tv to use airplay for sound and at the same time leave hdmi audio intact. Now when i connect my airpods to the apple tv, my tv sound is disabled and sound is airplayed to my airpods and i can’ t find an option to have my tv output sound at the same time.

I guess it would work the same way with homepods instead of airpods.

So would adding another apple tv work?
1 for outputting to the tv by hdmi and 1 for sound output to the homepods? So they can play the same sound at the same time?
