Got a new TV as I ditched Samsung and went to LG. LG is better but still the web interface is sluggish and not as polished as TVOS. Besides with Apple TV I can play thru my AirPods, HomePod and control the TV via my Apple Watch.

Nice, yeah I don't know how people use a smart TV with it's less that adequate processing power. All of them.

The WebOS with LG is ok, and pointing/selecting menu items like using a Wii remote is cool, but the general lag and sluggishness, along with having to reset the pointer location by shaking the remote to find it and locate and finally land on the desired selection, is unbearable.

You'll have to pry my AppleTV box from my cold dead hands.

I had my LG connected to the internet just long enough for the initial setup and firmware update when new, then promptly blocked it at the router level. I only pop into the interface to experiment with some video settings as needed (and using an older Harmony remote). Otherwise it’s the ATV and its own remote (the updated one, and the first to break me from using a Harmony regularly and exclusively). The guy who delivered it and set it up was dumbfounded that this was my plan and preference. Said everyone else that he has delivered to was like “you mean I can just use the TV and don’t need a separate box and remote????” *sigh* Luddites just have no clue.

Also the WIFI is bad. It refuses to always connect to my WIFI so I have to use my phone as a hotspot. The LG channel feature is very sluggish it’s unbearable.

I have an LG also and the unfortunate part is I suspect it’s one of the better onboard setups among TVs, with the possible exception of Roku TVs.

The Apple TV (4K 🙄) would be a much more successful product if the public at large cared about a quality OS for streaming. But they don’t, and Apple likely understands that which reflects their efforts with it.

IMO, if you own an iPhone, the lack of AirPlay support should instantly disqualify the Amazon Fire TV Stick from consideration.

A new model is coming.

My Apple TV 4K (lastest version) is significantly less responsive with the new Apple TV OS 26. Transitions are not as smooth as before, and there’s a noticeable lag. I’m not sure if this is due to Liquid Glass.
