Apple TV like one PC\ iTunes dead

I have two problems that are getting on ma nerves.

(1) When ever I open iTunes on my mac, it will not open a window, or respond at all, no matter how I try to close it.

(2) My apple TV which is connected to ethernet will not see computers on the wireless network on the same router. Only the one computer also connected by ethernet.
