The first season of basketball-focused TV show "Swagger" is set to premiere on Friday, October 29, Apple announced today.

"Swagger" is a drama series inspired by Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant's childhood and his experience as a talented youth basketball player courted by recruiters.
Inspired by Durant's experiences, "Swagger" explores the world of youth basketball, and the players, their families and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption. Off the court, the show reveals what it's like to grow up in America.
The 10-episode series is set to star Isaiah Hill, O'Shea Jackson Jr., and Quvenzhané Wallis. Kevin Durant was involved in the show's creation alongside Reggie Rock and Brian Grazer.

When the show premieres on October 29, the first three episodes will be available, with new episodes to follow each Friday.

In other Apple TV+ news, John Lithgow has been cast in Apple TV+ thriller "Sharper," and he will star alongside Julianne Moore. "Sharper" follows the story of a woman who cons her way through the world of Manhattan's wealthy elite.

Apple has also inked a deal for popular children's television show "Yo Gabba Gabba." Apple is creating a new 20-episode "Yo Gabba Gabba" series and has also acquired the rights to all prior "Yo Gabba Gabba" TV shows and specials.

How can a show reveal what it's like to grow up in America to an audience that has largely grown up in America? Bad copy, should be "...explores what it's like..."
Top be fair, "what it's like to grow up in America" can span quite a spectrum of potential. In other words, there is not one way to "grow up in America." Through that lens, I think it works. Anyway...

Stoked for some Gabba Gabba for my little one! Great show!
‘There’s a party in my tummy, so yummy… so yummy….

(sad) but, I want to go to the party in your tummy…

(excited) yeah!

I still use this to get my 5 year old to eat the rest of the food on his plate. He feels sorry for the broccoli wants to join the Mac and cheese in his tummy. So he eats the broccoli help him out.

I really hope that it’s more of a woke gabbba gabba. So many new lessons to teach our troubled youth. We must teach them young.

I hope drawing with Mark returns.

I thought John Lithgow was dead. Whooopsie.

My only exposure to Yo Gabba Gabba is South Park... will 'taming strange' be part of the new series too?

They didn't want to say "what it's like to grow up [black] in America.", but we all know it's what they meant.

Nice! I'll be watching it :)
Likewise.
I say "No Gabba Gabba".
I'll take a guess but I think it's more like no jibba-jabba (Mr. T) as in no BS no jive talking.
Durant is arguably the greatest talent of our generation. If not for injuries he would have 4 titles already instead of just 2.
Durant is a great player, not sure I'd say arguably or otherwise greatest talent of our generation - he did play while Kobe was still playing before his retirement and death and I'd say Kobe - even against Shaq or Lebron was much much better all around, game to game, playoff to playoff game.

Still I agree if not for plaguing injuries Durant would've truly got to shine much brighter.
Looking forward to this.

Do you subscribe to the 'shut up and dribble' mantra? Anybody anywhere would normally NOT make such a comment - given experiences vary greatly for anyone living in the same country as others.

Your experiences growing up in your home country of the USA doesn't always and hardly equals to others in much different backgrounds, hoods, financial climate, etc. Try to keep an open mind and take the time to read more or watch the series before passing judgment.

This is hard to disagree with

I also like to gabba gabba. It was the one show I could not only tolerate, but enjoy, while my kids were small.
