Apple TV Not Connecting to WIFI

Hello! I have my home internet on an Apple Extreme Airport. My laptop G4 receives the signal just fine and I'm able to get online. My Apple TV however, is able to get the signal from my WIFI but won't log on to the internet. I don't have the unit on top of my DVD player or any other metallic item. It still doesn't work. Any suggestions???
