My Mom has an older tv with rca jacks and no hdmi. I'd like to get her Apple TV, but am not sure if it'll work with her TV. Does anyone know if you can hook up apple tv to a non digital television? I've looked online and even asked employees at the apple store, but couldnt get a definitive answer. Thanks!

You could use a device like this

https://www.amazon.com/Tendak-Compo...qid=1503365297&sr=8-3&keywords=hdmi+to+analog

I have used a similar device in the past, it works ok.

Or, give her a REALLY nice gift. A new TV with HDMI to go with the ATV. Unless she is used to a very large screen, a modern and reliable TV isn't very expensive these days.

If the RCA-Inputs on your TV are Component Video (YPbPr, 3 RCA) then you could try the AppleTV 1st Gen (2007) which has Component Video (YPbPr, 3 RCA) Outputs.

If your TV has only Composite Video (single yellow RCA) then there's a trick how to get Color Composite Video from the AppleTV 1st Gen: TheRegister.co.uk .
