I want to run a 42in 1080p Flat screen in my studio/gallery, with a slide show playing continuously AND as people request i'd like to preview my individual images as needed on the big screen.

I'm wondering which way to go...use an Apple TV or a G4 Powerbook or perhaps a little mini mac?? I also have a Dual G4...Money is not really the issue but i don't want to spend more than $500.. plus i own the G4s which are retired and sitting

I know i could run slide shows on a Mac with iPhoto and bring up pics to see...right?

i want the MOST flexibility and highest quality

PS

Any thoughts on mounting the flat screen VERTICALLY...

In 2 days Apple may release a MacMini/Apple TV Hybrid Machine at Macworld 2009 (the event where they release all the new products), so wait a few days first :) Then again they may not, but thats a serious rumor going around, and we all know the Mac Mini's will get updated anyway because they havnt been updated in years, so hang on :)
