Hi,
Want to connect Apple TV to projector to run a powerpoint of my MacBook, can i get a hdmi to dvi and then dvi to vga, I don't need sound and doesn't have to be amazing quality but don't want to spend money on a hdmi to via convertor box.

Cheers

Hi,
thanks for your reply, i have seen these adaptors but apparently they don't work because of hdmi being digital and vga being analogue, but i don't want to spend money on a convertor

I have an asus maximus extreme with hdmi only, i have one of those and have my vga monitor plugged into it works without a hitch.

If your projector doesn't have a digital input, you'll need a converter. If it has DVI or HDMI input then you can get away with just an adaptor. But if you adapt HDMI to DVI, what you end up with is DVI-D - which can't be adapted to VGA (only converted).

I use ATV with my projector - quite nice - but converting digital to analog can be pricey ...
