Either 2.4 or 3.0.
Why does that make a difference ?
You can always down- or upgrade.

Doesn't matter when you purchased it if it was manufactured months ago and has been sitting on a shelf.

Get one, plug it in and run software update on it

I got mine from the Apple website in mid November and it came with 2.4. I updated it to 3.0.1 with no problems.
