Apple today shared the official trailer for "On the Rocks," an upcoming comedy film starring Rashida Jones, Bill Murray, and Marlon Wayans.

The film revolves around Laura, a young mother in New York faced with sudden doubts about her marriage. Laura teams up with her impulsive father Felix, who insists they investigate the situation, leading to an adventure across the city and a generational clash about how people see relationships differently from their parents.

"Acclaimed filmmaker Sofia Coppola brings a light touch to this blend of an exuberant love letter to New York, a generation-clash comedy about how we see relationships differently from our parents, and a funny celebration of the complications that bind modern families even as they tie us in crazy knots," says Apple.

"On the Rocks" hails from independent studio A24 and will debut on Apple TV+ in October.

Doesn’t seem to be a laugh-fest but it looks like one of those lighthearted comedies that you end up enjoying.

Whatever ATV+ adds right now is going to be good to bulk up the catalogue regardless of if it is a massive success or not. Anyway it is not like the competing services are filled with hits, a lot of good shows, and lot of regular ones. Apple just hasn’t found that one show people would binge watching it.

Wait... Bill Murray, Sofia Coppola. This has Lost In Translation written all over it, and if so, all the better. Lost In Translation is one of my all time fave movies.

Sofia is a great talent, I wish she was still actively acting, but hey, she is just as good writing.

Lost in Translation is a heck of a movie, Murray was amazing in it.

OMG thank god it's a father/daughter story. When I saw the video thumbnail I groaned thinking it was yet another old guy in a relationship with a hot young woman story.

I love Bill Murray and will watch this, but at first glance it doesn't look like my type of movie. I'm more a genre movie fan than a by the numbers drama, even if it does have prestige level production, etc.

Strong cast and looks promising. Sometimes the most simple plots are the best stories. I think that is what I am liking most about Apple+, not every show has to be about saving the world or solving a murder.

I love Bill Murray going back to Caddyshack and Stripes. (That's as far back and I can remember.) And I loved Rashida Jones in both The Office and Parks and Recreation.

I don't know why, but somehow I think these two are going to have great chemistry on screen. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Every time I think about the gopher poking his head out at the end and coughing several times to clear the smoke out of his lungs I laugh.
