For people that want to buy one of the better Apple TV remotes.

For anybody who dislikes the crappy touch Apple TV remote. Apple TV Remote without touchpad from Swiss company Salt. Found on @eBay!

I'm happy with my Dualshock 4s... and I can pick them up from Big W/Target for a LOT less than 99€.

Only issue is there’s no home button so won’t be able to bring up the control panel.
Unless of course the power button provides that functionality.

Or use any iDevice you have that’s on a recent OS (if you have one)
or your TV/media center remote.. though you’d need something to control the Apple TV first to get to the menu where you program it but yeah lol

Logitech Harmony remotes work just fine.

As far as I can tell only the Apple (Siri) Remote gives you the ability to use Siri with an ATV (for what that is worth!). I am finding the trackpad tedious since, currently, tvOS only allows me to go up, down, left or right and so arrow keys would suffice. The lack of a mute button is also irritating.

Oh no my household loves it too haha. Helps a lot when my daughter “loses” an Apple TV remote lol
