Apple TV remote constantly interfering with Mac sound

I disable the apple TV remote in the system prefs, yet it does not work and still interferes with my Macs sound. This is absurd!

Just pair the remote with your Mac and then unpair it. Then disable the remote in system prefs again. This worked for me..

Its a Apple TV 3 so I dont think it can be paired.

I have an Apple TV 3rd generation also…I'm talking about pairing the remote for your Apple TV with your Mac. The screenshot you posted shows the pair tab.. When you uncheck the disable the remote box, the pair button wont be greyed out anymore. Just follow the instructions it gives you to pair the remote... Then do what I said in my previous post
