yesterday the remote battery was empty

i've charged it fully for 2.5 hours

today the battery is on 64%

why the battery drain so fast???

Hi Eden.
It sounds as though the battery is dying after 2.5 years. It may be worth taking to an Apple Store to ask about a battery replacement.

How long does it normally last between charge 5 months or so?

in my country there is no apple store. so maybe i'll do it myself.
normally it last for months

i saw this guide but i didnt find any battery for sale in ebay or amazon

I too do not see any batteries for sale anywhere on the internet for this particular remote.

Besides that iFixit article, I see nothing about changing or replacing the battery for this particular remote on the internet.

BB Paul, do you know of where these batteries might be obtained?

I'm sorry guys I don't. I guess that the only way is to contact Apple via their website. Thank Goodness you can use your iPhone to control the Apple TV if the remote truly breaks. I find the app a really nice experience when watching film.

OUCH after researching it looks as though there aren't any replacement batteries for this remote and you actually have to buy a new remote at £59.
It's a shame if the battery fails at 2.5 years considering it maybe gets charged less than 10 times in total in 2.5 years.
Maybe worthing dropping an Email to Apple about this. Yes the remote is 100% recyclable as its glass & aluminium but it's still not an environment success in this case.
