Apple TV remote is too small, slick, and easy to lose. The remote is excessively sensitive; just barely touch it, and something unwanted happens. I disabled the swipe feature but that super sensitive micro switch on the side gets me every time I pick it up.
Accessing the remote on an iPad or iPhone is equally irritating since it is in the Control Center which is accessed by swiping from the upper right corner. I can reach the Control Center 1 out of 10 tries on the iPhone, even worse on an iPad, maybe 1 out of 20 attempts. I would rather have the AppleTV remote functionality as an icon on the home page easily accessible, no more swiping.

If you think this remote is bad you would have HATED the last one with the trackpad. This remote is a revelation compared to that one. I still don't know what happened to that one... Do yourself a favor. Get a cheap cover for it on Amazon that has room for an airtag. I got one that glows in the dark. It gives it more of a shape that is hard to slip between couch cushions and makes it impossible to lose.

The lanyard also makes it much easier to find.

You can change the remote sensitivity in the ATV setting. It may not cure the problem entirely, but it should help.

While I was never in love with the original Siri Remote, I prefer to use it over the newer Siri Remotes.

The touch pad/select button on the new remotes are too small for me, and I often end up pressing the D-pad buttons instead of the select button.

I swapped the new Siri Remote on my 2022 ATV4K3 for the original Siri Remote, and enjoy using it so much more.

I honestly never understood the love for the new Siri remote, as there are several objectively bad things about it compared the original.

Although I dont agree with the OP's main sentiment... (I dont think its too sensitive at all, and the other buttons need a press to activate)

I do agree that the siri button is VERY easy to inadvertently press and its super sensitive too.

I naturally pick up the remote from its sides, and not on its top just because of course you want to avoid inadvertent button presses... however its very easy to touch the siri button when picking up the remote.... and when you are mid-watching a show or movie, SIRI interrupts things.
