All of a sudden I have the strangest bug with my Apple TV 4K.

The screensaver will pop on after 10 minutes of watching live TV via the Spectrum app. It will interrupt whatever is playing and just show the aerial screensaver until I press the remote.

This just randomly started happening. I’ve been using this exact setup for over a year and the TVOS is the same current 15.4.1 that’s been out a while now with no newer update out.

Strange… anyone else ever experience anything similar?

I'm having the same issue. I think it's a Spectrum bug because it's only showing up on Spectrum app.

Follow up.

So it seems to only happen on channels with a static banner or image. Like a news channel or a sports game with a big static banner. Otherwise it works fine.

Strange issue to pop up randomly. For now I have to jump into settings and turn off the screensaver.

Probably a Spectrum bug. Have you tried turning off the AppleTV screensaver function in Settings?

Yes. When I watch live to via the Spectrum app I have to set the screensaver to "Never". Otherwise it pops on as if the device was sitting idle.

I am having the same issue starting just this week. Very strange and defeats the purpose of streaming TV. You should not be required to turn off the screensaver constantly or permanently. Those of us with plasma or OLED TVs really need that screensaver to prevent image retention, just like back in the CRT days. I've posted to the Spectrum help forums with the same title as this post. Maybe others of you can post there if you want to help bring this to their attention.

I’m also having the same problem. And turning off the screen saver is not an option because it will damage the TV. Does anybody know if Spectrum is aware of this?
