so I'm having weird issues with my Apple TV on my android tv(Sony Bravia x83c 4K - 49")

I have my Apple TV 4th gen set to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity. If I turn the tv off while the tv input is set to the Apple TV, the Apple TV won't sleep.

I have the light background set for the Apple TV. When I go back to the Apple TV when turning the tv back on, the background is darker and the text is not visible since it's now the same color as the background. Only way to resolve this is restart the Apple TV, but it will keep happening.

I got my Apple TV replaced at the Apple Store this past week, but I think this is a tv/Apple TV issue as this issue keeps happening on this Apple TV.

I also have it placed in a non Arc/mhl hdmi port to rule out issues with those hdmi ports

Anyone else having this issue?

[doublepost=1486326942][/doublepost]The exact thing is happening to me. Started with last update. Thought it was a harmony remote issue but the ATV will not go to sleep and when it comes back on the screens are all, dark. Only way to fix is to reboot Apple TV. Same TV as well but 55"

Mine goes to sleep, but definitely aTV has problem with restoring video signal on HDMI when waking up again.
The TV (X85C) complains, there is no input detected. And indeed, screen is black.
I have to press Menu and Home buttons until it to eventually renders a picture. The best bet seems to be to double-click the Home button to make app switcher to appear.
From then on, everything runs OK.

I'm just curious if anyone has tried contacting Sony support about this.

I think it is Apple who is at fault here. Other HDMI devices (for me Sony Bluray player and Mac Mini) do not exhibit such problem. Apple TV 4 has problem with restoring proper HDMI signal after waking from sleep.
And I also think this is what causes the complaint about TV falling back to other HDMI input as well.

PS You can try to get a workaround by swithcing HDMI-CEC off on aTV, as sugested in article linked above.
