Apple TV stops playing (gray screen then goes to home screen)

I've been using the Apple TV with really only one app - MLB.tv app

What's really weird is that it FEELS like, when I leave the room the Apple TV is in, after about 15 minutes the app is stop playing and it'll go to the Apple TV homescreen.

And when I'm in the room, this doesn't really happen... maybe that's just a coincidence. It that even possible? Is there no "Apple TV sensor" or something?

Either way this is happening, and I don't know how to fix it.

It's happened to me a few times recently, maybe there's a bug in the current version of the MLB app.
