Can anyone tell me how to change this? The remote app is the only place showing this label.

If I remember rightly, a few years ago, I had a similar problem where I had got two devices, albeit different types (maybe HomePod and Apple TV), with the same name. I would suggest you check all the device names on your network and give them a unique names.

Yeah I believe it was originally set this way because I had a HomePod and an Apple TV in the same location but that was rectified a while ago.

Here’s Remote:

Just doesn’t make sense.

You could try renaming all the devices to give them, even if just temporary, completely unique names and see if the remote "catches up"?

I’ve been through that; everything is currently unique. I was at the Apple Store earlier and asked them about it and was told I’d most likely have to restore it as she couldn’t think of any other troubleshooting to try.

Well if you're absolutely sure each device has an absolutely unique name I am at a loss. But I reiterate, I had the exact same issue as you ages ago and it was because two devices had the same name, in my case "living room"
