After having Comcast for years, I finally decided to ditch cable TV and try my hand at being a cord cutter. I started with a Chromecast and it was okay. The lack of interface left much to be desired... I didn't like that I had to depend on my phone so much.

Fast forwarded a year later and I score an Apple TV through the DirecTV Now promo and its pretty much has been a flawless *knock on wood* transition. I have a pretty cheap TV (I won an 42 inch Element TV from the Steve Harvey show a few years back so I won't complain) and a standard internet connection through Comcast. Nothing fancy.

The difference between having all your apps (NetFlix, Hulu, HBO GO, DirecTV Now) in one place versus having all these apps on your phone and being dependent on it makes TV watching a lot easier. Color me impressed.

No one asked for my review lol but I just felt the need to share.. I think I'll get my Mom and Step Dad the same set-up for X'mas.

Hi Jshin100! I truly appreciate your review an I agree 1000000000%. I love it and it's the only box that I use 99.9% of the time. I have a MacBook and iTune and the whole thing suits me amazingly. I love it.
