Hi all

Getting an Apple TV soon, and wanting some info on the best resolution as I cam get from various movies as I understand it ATV 2 uses mp4. I also know you can convert movies with Handbrake. But would source resolution matter ?

What i mean is, I have quite a few divx, avi formats all at different resolutions.

What resolution Handbrake output these as? Would i need to adjust anything for best quality on a HDTV ?

Also, thinking of setting up IOS 4.3.3 with Airplay on Iphone 4.

After connection over Airport Express, can I stream from the iphone without opening the video ? The solution is i would want not to open my mac when i could stream on Iphone, have movies i can browse to on ATV, just as when i set my itunes library on mac with Home sharing in itunes.

Handbrake will output the movies at their original resolution, or any lower resolution you specify. It won't increase the resolution as this would be a waste of time and space, ie you can't create detail that wasn't there in the first place.
