Let's say that i have a 1080i .mkv file on my mac pro...what would i have to convert it to (video and audio) for it to play on the apple tv? (i know it can support 720p, but don't know of a program (yet) set to convert it for the apple tv (as visualhub or QT Pro does for the ipod).

To convert it any ipod converter or quicktime pro should be be fine.

In order for apple tv to work you have to have itunes files.

yes i know, i own a mac...i am trying to see what i should use (and the settings) so that i can watch it in 720p on my hdtv
