For the past year, I have been using an ATV 4th generation in my living room to supply content to my television. I am using the ATV4 in conjunction with an "audio extractor", which passes the video/audio content through to the television, but extracts the audio content for my stereo amplifier/speaker set up in the living room. So, I can watch tv content with the audio delivered through my stereo amplifier. I can also choose ATV "Living Room" as the destination for audio from sources such as, my iPhone, iTunes on my desktop Mac or content from the Mac's Safari browser.

In the last 24 hours, I have discovered that the Mac iTunes content no longer can be heard at the "Living Room" ATV4, and therefore no extracted sound from the stereo system there. This happens to be coincident with an automatic update to the "Living Room" ATV4, which appears to have taken place within the last 24 hours as well. Everything else though, is still working fine: Stereo sound from ATV4 delivered content... Stereo sound from my iPhone... Stereo sound from Safari. The only odd item is the iTunes at my Mac: No extracted sound at the stereo. Not a thing else has been changed within the system. I've rebooted everything... several times. I updated iTunes [v. 12.8.2.3, running with OSX 10.11.6]. Checked every darn connection, and so on. I also looked into the "Settings" on that updated ATV4 to see if any audio settings have changed.

As I said, this set up has worked flawlessly for over a year from all sources. Everything is still functional, except for audio from iTunes on my Mac to the "Living Room" ATV4 with audio extractor. My suspicion is that there is some compatibility issue between the recent ATV4 tvOS update and the version of iTunes I indicated above. The update and the malfunction were virtually simultaneous.

Any thoughts or experience with this?
