I have a mac without an infrared receiver, and would like to be able to control Front Row with a remote control. I have an Apple Universal Dock and Apple Remote, and was wondering if I could control Front Row with the Dock connected via USB to my mac.

If this is not possible, is there a way to control front row with my iPod touch using the Remote application from the App Store? This is very convenient with iTunes, but can I use my iPod touch to control other apps, for free (not using Remote Buddy, which is $35)?

Thanks for any help.

Nah it doesn't work.

iPod touch remote would work though but I'm not sure it can invoke Front Row, if you've got your iTunes settings so that videos play full screen then there's not much difference.
