Apple Universal Remote + Front Row?

Hey there I just picked up an iMac i3 and was wondering if I got the Apple Universal Dock with Remote then would it be possible to use the included remote in Front Row.

I really don't want to buy the dock w/remote only for it not to work so that I have to buy the Aluminum Remote too.
