Has anyone who has the universal remote fully tested it out with Keynote and Powerpoint? How does it respond overall and are there any more apps it can be used to control in similar ways, Front Row excluded.

Somebody is probably going to find a way to make a little utility that you can reqire the input hooks with so you can bind the buttons for different things, I don't know if they have yet. As far as I know, it's only supported (by default) with Frontrow.

From http://www.apple.com/uk/macbookpro/frontrow.html

Under Your Thumb

The Apple Remote features a minimalist six buttons. Press menu to activate Front Row and the standard transport to navigate through your media. You can even use the remote to control Keynote presentations in the all new iWork ’06.
So it definately works with Keynote 3, but doesn't mention Powerpoint exactly. I'll give it a whirl at work tomorrow.

It's ironic because I was looking at remotes and receivers that had been been reduced to £59 for Keynote around Christmas time. If they had been £10-20, I'd have had one as it could be a handy device to have. Now it appears all MBPs ship with the same thing that doesn't even require a receiver dongle.
