This is odd, why no automatic downloads (Mac)....

Oh gosh, the dark move version of MacRumors does not render well quotes... The text there is unreadable.

No problem here.

Grr. They've left High Sierra users behind for this update.

This 👆🏻. What's with them dropping High Sierra? It's still got Security and Safari updates, also many 3rd prt devs still support it. The new iWork could perfectly run on HS and I don't want to upgrade to Mojave and higher: tried Mojave 2 times – rejection both times, the worst set of features for me so far and Catalina looks even more depressing. High Sierra is the turning point I won't go beyond.
Ok, have to accept that, not the first time. FCPX and the rest of the Suite will definitely stop supporting High Sierra too with the upcoming release. I can understand that (through clenched teeth). But I don't see a single reason for iWork apps to require the new high so soon.

I know they dropped Mavericks for iWork in 2014 – the year it came to the end of its active development cycle.

I think, most important is not to succumb to emotional dependence on these updates. If it works and you feel it's not complete garbage then you're fine.

My theory was correct. Original iPadOS release date was 9/30 and iWork updates normally come out same or next day as iOS updates. Makes me wonder if these have been sitting there for a week and why apple didn’t put them out sooner.

FYI: i had to manually update available updates, which oddly showed 18 app updates - amongst which these iWork apps.
I should have automatic listing of updates, but in iOS 13.1.1 it don’t seem to be the case. Anyone else has that symptom?

There was a time not too long ago Apps would work for many different OS X releases, why is it that so many times Apps are broken on newer (mac)OS.

Am I using it wrong or does Dark Mode feel useless in Numbers?
That’s how it is on macOS, too. They’re not going to render dark content arbitrarily because it doesn’t remotely match the printed appearance and may have unintended consequences (e.g., text that looks good on a light background often won’t look good, if it’s readable at all, on a dark background).

I’ve been struggling with this too. When you click on Add Fonts in Settings, it just takes you to the App Store home.

Can you explain how to add fonts from Adobe, et al? Thanks so much for your help.
Well, my screen caps were not the right answer to be honest, my apologies.

The thing is that the custom fonts are advertised as "Use custom fonts installed from the App Store"
I cannot find out yet how that is to be done...

I however found an old article, stating system-wide font installation trough profiles, which is including the final disclaimer:

Installing fonts onto iOS is similar to installing them in the early days of Mac OS X. It’s risky, it’s a pain, and it leave a mess. But despite that, I’m glad it’s possible, because it also lets you do fancy design work if you want, or just to decorate your favorite text editor so you feel more at home.

I just updated my Mac to 10.15 Beta 10. I wonder if this updated those apps too, because I'm not seeing the updates for them in the App Store.

I have the opposite problem. The Dark Mode is on by default only in Keynote and that's great because I found it hefty for my perception whereas the Light Mode makes everything exactly how it sounds – light and streamlined. True, I'm still on iOS 12, so, thankfully, the Dark Mode didn't arrive out of the box. Still, I'd like to know, is it possible to switch between the modes? Is it possible to get rid of that nasty Dark Mode in Keynote? I didn't find any setting controlling that.

Well, you can change the cell background color and the text color.. but you still have a lot of white space.

Hold on, let me check Apple’s dictionary and see what their definition of the word “dark” is..

It’s where are they in the App Store to add... not to customize fonts.
... as I assumed in my previous post.
But thanks anyways for a late completion of your own question.

All I can find is a hint, and it might as well help you ahead this time.

In the Settings app, you go to General, then to fonts, where you will find that none are installed.

You can click to go to the App Store, where you’d expect to see fonts there, but there Apple leaves us in the dark.
It appears that mediating apps might be the way to install your fonts in a legit way (as opposed to the side-loading option described in the link from my previous post). So, in AppStpre, we’d have to manually look for relevant apps that can load fonts system-wide. (What is that again, Apple??)

Apparently, Adobe has demoed a process of loading fonts into ios 13 at typecon some month ago, but I cannot find more than just the mentioning of that demo.

An interesting conversation on the matter can be found here:

Admitted: the answer is not there to grab, and we can assume that either Apple is going to work on some PR about it, or these apps will have to film the gap we’re in.
